Everyone knows that Wayne Gretzky is the greatest hockey player of all time. He has more assists than any other player has points, he’s the only player to score more than 200 points in a season (a feat he managed to do four times) and he currently holds 61 NHL records.
You also probably know about his white Nike Zoom Air skates, his blue skate holders and his signature Jofa helmet … but what about the rest of his gear?
In his rookie season, Gretzky used a Titan TPM stick, Jofa gloves, CCM Supra pants, Daoust skates and a Jofa helmet. He used this gear for several years, setting several league records in the process.
It wasn’t until after Gretzky was traded to the Los Angeles Kings before we saw his gear begin to change. The Titan TPM was eventually dropped for an Easton Aluminum HXP 5100, and the Jofa gloves were also swapped for Easton GX 9500 Pro gloves. His Daoust skates lasted a bit longer but were eventually traded in for a pair of CCM Tacks.
After a brief stint with the Blues in St. Louis, Gretzky ended his career with the New York Rangers. At the time of his retirement, he was using a Hespeler stick, Hespeler RTX gloves, Hespeler pants, Nike Zoom Air skates — and, of course, he was still wearing his classic Jofa helmet.
