Their combination of skill, physicality, leadership, and competitiveness has made them one of the most entertaining tandems in hockey. Now, for the first time in their professional careers, they'll be bringing that same chemistry to an NHL roster.

For Panthers’ fans, it's hard not to be excited about what this could mean over the next several seasons. But while most conversations surrounding the trade have centered around Stanley Cup aspirations and roster construction, hockey equipment enthusiasts have another storyline to keep an eye on.

What happens to the Tkachuks' equipment?

For several years now, Matthew Tkachuk has been one of Sherwood Hockey's premier ambassadors. Whether using the Code series or appearing in marketing campaigns, he has become one of the faces of the Sherwood brand at the NHL level.

Meanwhile, younger brother Brady has spent much of his career representing TRUE Hockey, serving as one of the company's highest-profile NHL players.

When you stop and think about it, it's actually a fascinating dynamic. Two of the NHL's brightest stars have spent years promoting two brands that traditionally receive far less exposure than industry giants like Bauer and CCM.

Both Sherwood and TRUE deserve plenty of credit for securing partnerships with players of this caliber and helping elevate their visibility throughout the hockey world.

Now, however, both brothers find themselves wearing the same NHL sweater, which naturally raises some interesting questions.

Could Brady eventually make the jump to Sherwood and join his brother?

Might Matthew decide to switch over to TRUE?

Or could both players eventually move in an entirely different direction, and begin new equipment partnerships with another manufacturer?

At this point, nobody outside of the players, their representatives, and the equipment companies truly knows the details of their endorsement agreements. The length of those contracts, potential renewal options, and any exclusivity clauses remain private. That means any discussion about future changes is purely speculation.

Still, history tells us these types of moves certainly aren't impossible.

Over the years, NHL players have switched equipment brands for a variety of reasons. Sometimes contracts expire naturally. Other times players seek a different stick build, glove fit, skate profile, or simply a new endorsement opportunity. There have even been instances where players have changed partnerships on relatively short notice for various reasons.

Neither Tkachuk brother is unfamiliar with different brands, either.

Before becoming one of Sherwood's biggest ambassadors, Matthew spent part of his Calgary Flames career partnered with Warrior. Earlier in his NHL career, he also had experience using Bauer equipment.

Brady likewise has experience with Bauer dating back to his younger playing days before establishing himself as one of TRUE's marquee representatives.

Because of those previous relationships, there are several realistic possibilities moving forward.

Perhaps nothing changes at all. Matthew could remain with Sherwood while Brady continues representing TRUE for years to come. Both partnerships have been successful, and there may be little reason for either side to make a change.

On the other hand, the opportunity to have both Tkachuk brothers representing the same equipment company could prove to be an attractive marketing opportunity. Whether that's Sherwood, TRUE, or even another manufacturer altogether remains to be seen.

From an equipment perspective, the next few seasons will certainly be worth monitoring.

Will Matthew continue using Sherwood sticks and gloves? Does Brady remain one of TRUE's flagship NHL athletes? Or will we eventually see the brothers with matching equipment setups under the same brand?

For now, those questions remain unanswered. But if there's one thing hockey equipment enthusiasts have learned over the years, it's that endorsement deals and equipment partnerships can evolve just as quickly as NHL rosters themselves.

As the Tkachuk brothers begin this exciting new chapter together with the Panthers, fans will undoubtedly be watching their production on the ice. At the same time, equipment enthusiasts will also be keeping a close eye on the gear they carry onto it.

Needless to say, we wouldn't be surprised if, somewhere within the next handful of years, Matthew and Brady eventually find themselves using equipment from the same manufacturer. Whether that prediction comes true remains to be seen, but it's certainly another intriguing storyline to follow as one of hockey's most talented sibling duos begins its journey together in Florida.

For many hockey players and equipment enthusiasts, this is much more than just another stick launch. It's the return of one of the most beloved stick families ever produced.

To the players who swore by the TotalOne, TotalOne NXG, MX3, 2S Pro, and other Supreme models over the years, there's finally something new to be excited about.

Nearly six years is a long time for a major stick line to remain dormant, especially one that carried the reputation and popularity of Supreme. Throughout that time, Bauer continued to focus heavily on its Vapor and Nexus families, leaving many players wondering if Supreme would ever make a comeback. Now, those questions have been answered.

If you were a teenage hockey player during the early 2010s, chances are you owned a Supreme stick at some point. If you didn't, you probably gave some a try from time to time. Models like the TotalOne and TotalOne NXG became iconic almost immediately, earning loyal followings thanks to their powerful shooting characteristics and distinctive feel.

Even younger players who entered the game later likely remember the popularity of sticks like the 2S Pro and Ultrasonic. Those models continued to carry the Supreme torch into the modern era before the line seemingly disappeared from Bauer's stick catalog.

Now, all generations of hockey players can celebrate the return of the Supreme name.

Of course, one of the biggest storylines surrounding the Supreme Fuse won't just be what happens at retail locations. It will be what happens in NHL locker rooms across the league.

Whenever Bauer launches a major stick line, attention immediately turns toward the company's professional ambassadors. Which players will be chosen to showcase the new model? Which players will actually use it? And perhaps most interestingly, which players will continue to stick with their current setups?

One player who immediately comes to mind is Steven Stamkos.

For years, Stamkos has famously continued using sticks wrapped in the graphics of the Supreme 2S Pro. Whether it's superstition, preference, familiarity, or a combination of all three, he's remained incredibly loyal to that look. Convincing him to suddenly switch to a Supreme Fuse graphic may not be as simple as it sounds.

The same can be said for some of Bauer's other high-profile stars.

Early indications suggest players like Aleksander Barkov and Cale Makar could be Supreme Fuse candidates. Both players have appeared prominently in recent Bauer advertisements and promotional material involving the Fuse. However, both have also become closely associated with Nexus stick graphics in recent seasons.

Will they embrace the Fuse aesthetic once actual games begin?

That's a question only time can answer.

Still, we like the chances of seeing a significant number of NHL players using sticks wrapped in the new Supreme Fuse graphics next season. Bauer remains one of the most popular brands in professional hockey, and many of its ambassadors are likely to be on board with helping relaunch one of the company's most recognizable product lines.

Beyond the graphics, there is also the possibility that some players will adopt the actual Supreme Fuse build itself. While it's often difficult to determine exactly what is underneath a professional player's stick graphics, history suggests there are always a handful of NHL players willing to experiment with new constructions and technologies.

Some will try it.

Some will like it.

A few may even make the switch permanently.

As always, it will take time, equipment close-ups, and plenty of observation to determine exactly who is using what once the season begins.

For now, however, the biggest story remains that the Bauer Supreme line of sticks has returned.

The Supreme Fuse represents the return of a stick family that helped define an entire generation of hockey equipment. Whether your favorite was the original TotalOne, the legendary TotalOne NXG, the popular 2S Pro, or the Ultrasonic, there's no denying the impact the Supreme line has had on the hockey world.

More information is expected throughout the summer and into next season, but for hockey gear enthusiasts, collectors, and longtime Supreme users, the return of the Supreme name alone is reason enough to be excited.

The legend is back.

This stick builds on the success of the Nexus line, delivering an ideal balance of power and precision. Bauer’s Nexus line has been a popular choice among NHL stars since its introduction over a decade ago. The Tracer, which first caught public attention during Bauer’s Combine event in early June 2024, is no different. At that event, it was tested by then-Winnipeg Jets prospect Rutger McGroarty (now property of the Pittsburgh Penguins).

Released to the retail market on July 18, 2024, the Tracer carries on the Nexus Sync’s sleek design with “Bauer” prominently displayed in the center of the shaft. Interestingly, the QR6 had gained a surprising amount of traction in the ECHL last spring, where sightings of the stick were more common than expected. In minor leagues, it's rare to see unreleased gear make appearances before the following season, adding to the QR6’s mystique and appeal.

With its proven quality, professional endorsement, and eye-catching design, the Warrior Covert QR6 Pro has cemented itself as a strong choice for players looking for both performance and aesthetics in their stick.

Shop this stick

6) Warrior Alpha LX3 Pro

Users this month: 40 (5.27% of league)
Users last month: 40 (5.3% of league)

Notable users: Leon Draisaitl, Robert Thomas, Anders Lee

The Warrior Alpha LX3 Pro hockey stick is built for players who demand elite-level performance every shift. This combination makes the Novium 2 Pro especially appealing to players who rely on heavy slap shots, booming one-timers, and powerful wrist shots.

Combining innovative technology with Warrior’s commitment to performance, the Novium 2 Pro has quickly become a popular option for players looking to add extra velocity and authority to their shot.

Shop this stick

10) True HZRDUS Smoke

Users this month: 18 (2.37% of league)
Users last month: 18 (2.38% of league)

Notable users: Mitch Marner, Brady Tkachuk, Jake Sanderson

The True HZRDUS Smoke hockey stick is engineered for speed, precision, and elite-level performance. Now, it may be time to add another star player to that conversation.

Could Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson be the next PRO Reserve loyalist?

After his usage of the sticks during the Conference Semifinal round against the Montreal Canadiens, it is certainly a question worth asking.

This past series was certainly not Thompson's first experience with PRO Reserve sticks. In fact, followers may recall spotting the Buffalo star with these sticks on multiple occasions over the past two seasons.

Thompson first teased the brand over a year ago, briefly bringing the sticks into game action before ultimately returning to his usual setup. Since then, PRO Reserve sticks have continued to make appearances during Sabres’ practices, leading many equipment enthusiasts to wonder if a permanent switch could eventually be on the horizon.

Now, after the Canadiens series, that possibility appears more realistic than ever.

According to our records, Thompson made the switch to a PRO Reserve stick beginning in Game 3 of the Conference Semifinal. More importantly, he never looked back.

The Sabres forward continued using the sticks throughout the remainder of the series, suggesting that his comfort level with the product had reached a new level.

If the results are any indication, the decision most definitely paid off.

Over the final five games of the series, Thompson recorded an impressive eight points. That stretch included a dominant Game 6 performance in which he scored one goal and added three assists.

While no hockey stick alone creates offensive production, professional players are incredibly particular about their equipment. When a player finds a setup that feels right, confidence often follows.

For Thompson, the combination of continued usage and strong production could be viewed as a sign that he has found something he truly likes in the PRO Reserve build.

Of course, nothing is official just yet.

Players experiment with equipment all the time, particularly during practices and throughout the playoffs when they are looking for every possible advantage. However, the fact that Thompson committed to the sticks for the majority of a playoff series is noteworthy. Unlike a quick test during a regular season game or practice, playoff hockey tends to reveal what players trust most when the stakes are highest.

That trust may ultimately be the biggest takeaway from this story.

The potential impact of Thompson becoming a long-term PRO Reserve user would extend beyond Buffalo as well. Adding a player of his caliber to the growing list of NHL users would be a significant milestone for the brand. Thompson is not only one of the league's most recognizable offensive talents, but he also plays in one of hockey's most passionate markets.

Buffalo fans pay close attention to every detail surrounding their team's stars, and it is easy to imagine conversations beginning to pop up around the city and online.

"What is that new stick Tage is using?"

For PRO Reserve, that type of exposure is invaluable.

Interestingly, this is not the only recent connection between the Sabres and the emerging stick brand. Earlier this season, teammate Josh Doan was also spotted testing PRO Reserve sticks during the December and January portions of the schedule.

Those sticks were confirmed as built for Thompson, but Doan decided to grab a few and give them a try himself. Such equipment borrowing is extremely common throughout the NHL, where players frequently experiment with sticks from teammates and friends across the league.

As the offseason begins, all eyes will be on Thompson's equipment setup heading into training camp and, eventually, opening night in October.

Will the PRO Reserve sticks remain in his hands when the puck drops on a new season?

For now, we simply do not know.

What we do know is that Thompson has spent considerable time testing the sticks, used them throughout most of a playoff series, and enjoyed some outstanding offensive success while doing so. That is enough to make this one of the more intriguing equipment storylines to watch over the coming months.

Time will tell what ultimately comes of Thompson's relationship with PRO Reserve. But if he opens next season with the same setup he finished this postseason using, we may soon be able to officially label him as hockey's next major PRO Reserve ambassador.

Out of nowhere, Quinn made the unexpected switch to the Sherwood Rekker Morph Pro stick just ahead of Buffalo’s Conference Semifinal matchup against the Montreal Canadiens, and the move has quickly become one of the biggest equipment stories of the postseason.

The first signs of the change came during morning skate prior to Game 1 of the series. Quinn was spotted handling a Sherwood Rekker Morph Pro, immediately sparking curiosity among equipment enthusiasts and Sabres fans alike.

While players often test gear in practices or morning skates without ever bringing it into game action, Quinn wasted no time making the switch official. That same evening, he stepped onto the ice for Game 1 using the new Sherwood twig in a playoff environment.

Now, several weeks later, the experiment may be permanent.

Quinn has continued using the Rekker Morph Pro in every game of the series, and the results are beginning to speak for themselves. Most notably, in Buffalo’s must-win Game 6, Quinn delivered a massive performance by recording two goals and an assist while helping the Sabres stave off elimination and force a Game 7 back in Buffalo.

For many observers, it felt like a statement game. Not only for Quinn, but perhaps for Sherwood as well.

It is fair to wonder if Quinn’s increasing comfort level with the stick is beginning to show. NHL players are famously particular about their equipment, especially their sticks.

Even subtle changes in kick point, blade feel, or balance can dramatically impact performance and confidence. That makes Quinn’s success with the Rekker Morph Pro all the more impressive, particularly considering the pressure and intensity of playoff hockey.

For Sherwood, this development represents another major step in what has been a notable resurgence at the NHL level over the past few seasons.

Once viewed primarily as a nostalgic brand tied to hockey’s past, Sherwood has aggressively re-entered the modern performance equipment market and become one of the most discussed companies in the sport. Their strategy has been impossible to ignore.

Rather than simply chasing volume, Sherwood has targeted high-profile NHL stars in major hockey markets, creating visibility where it matters most. Toronto Maple Leafs superstar William Nylander has become one of the faces of the brand. Detroit Red Wings sniper Alex DeBrincat has also been prominently featured using Sherwood gear. Then there is Connor Bedard in Chicago, one of the most marketable young players in hockey today.

Now, with Jack Quinn joining the fold in Buffalo, Sherwood has established another important foothold in a passionate hockey city.

Buffalo may not always receive the same national attention as Toronto or Chicago, but within the hockey world, it remains one of the league’s most loyal and engaged markets. Sabres fans care deeply about every aspect of the game, including equipment trends and player preferences.

Quinn becoming “the Sherwood guy” in Buffalo immediately gives the company additional credibility and visibility among younger players and fans throughout Western New York and beyond.

The timing also makes perfect sense from a branding perspective. Quinn is still just 24 years old and possesses the skill set to develop into an everyday top-six forward for the Sabres.

Injuries have slowed portions of his early NHL career, but the talent has never been questioned. He has shown flashes of elite scoring ability, strong hockey sense, and the quick release that modern offensive players rely on. If Quinn continues trending upward while using Sherwood sticks, it could become a massive win for the company long-term.

Young stars endorsing equipment can completely shift public perception of a brand. Hockey players at every level often want to emulate NHL talent, especially rising offensive forwards. Seeing Quinn produce in the playoffs with a Rekker Morph Pro in his hands instantly creates intrigue among players looking for their next stick.

What adds even more intrigue to the story is that Quinn’s switch was largely unexpected. Some fans may recall that Sabres defenseman Owen Power was seen testing Sherwood sticks toward the end of last summer.

However, those experiments never translated into actual NHL game usage. Because of that, few anticipated Quinn suddenly making the leap during the playoffs of all times.

Now the conversation shifts to what could happen next.

Could Quinn eventually transition into Sherwood gloves as well? It is certainly possible.

Equipment changes often happen gradually, especially at the professional level. A player may begin with a stick endorsement before eventually moving into gloves, pants, or other categories over time.

Much could depend on how deep Buffalo’s playoff run goes, but even if the change does not happen immediately, all eyes will undoubtedly be on Quinn throughout the offseason and into training camp.

Every offseason skate, summer development session, and preseason appearance will now be monitored closely by equipment watchers eager to see whether more Sherwood gear starts appearing in Quinn’s setup.

For now, though, Jack Quinn and Sherwood have quickly become one of the most fascinating equipment storylines of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. If the production continues while helping Buffalo push deeper into the postseason, the attention surrounding both player and brand is only going to grow.

For a Ducks team built around a rising young core, Terry represents the perfect blend of experience and prime-age performance. With Anaheim returning to the postseason for the first time in several years, his role has never been more important.

So far, he has delivered in a big way.

In Anaheim’s first-round victory over the Edmonton Oilers, Terry recorded three goals and five assists for eight points in six games. Those are elite numbers for any player, let alone one making his playoff debut against a veteran-heavy Oilers squad.

His ability to produce offensively while maintaining composure in high-pressure situations has been a major factor in the Ducks’ success. As the team now prepares to face the Vegas Golden Knights, it’s clear that Terry is not just contributing, but he’s also driving play.

Naturally, performances like this are fueling growing belief that the Ducks have officially “arrived.” With a talented young roster and players like Terry leading the charge, Anaheim looks poised to be a competitive force in the Western Conference for years to come.

But beyond the on-ice production, there’s another storyline surrounding Terry that has captured the attention of hockey equipment enthusiasts.

Going into Game 1 against Edmonton, Terry made a surprising and somewhat unconventional decision. He switched from his long-trusted Warrior sticks to CCM.

For a player who has been closely associated with Warrior gear throughout his career, dating back to his time with the Denver Pioneers, this was a notable shift. In today’s NHL, it’s not uncommon for players to make tweaks, update to new models, or change stick graphics within the same brand. However, switching brands entirely, especially on the eve of the playoffs, is certainly more of a rarity.

Interestingly, this isn’t Terry’s first experience with CCM. During his rookie season, he used CCM sticks and gloves, largely due to his time spent in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls, where league equipment agreements influenced player usage. This time, however, the decision appears to be entirely his own.

So far, it’s working.

Terry’s strong playoff performance has sparked what we may now call the “Terry CCM Watch.” Could this be the beginning of a larger shift in his equipment setup? Will CCM look to formalize a partnership with a player who is clearly thriving while using their sticks on one of the league’s biggest stages?

While it may be unlikely that Terry transitions to a full-CCM setup during this playoff run, the possibility of a more comprehensive switch heading into next season feels very real. A move like that would not only mark a significant change for Terry personally, but also create a compelling new player-brand storyline within the equipment world.

For now, though, the focus remains on the ice, where Troy Terry is proving that he belongs on hockey’s biggest stage. Regardless of what logo is on his stick.

From early teases to multiple boot variations spotted in development, the anticipation has only grown stronger.

A handful of professional players have already tested the skates in practice settings, but notably, no NHL player has worn them in a game yet.

That is expected to change as we head into the 2026–27 season, when the first official in-game sightings could mark a significant milestone for the brand.

From a professional standpoint, Warrior entering the skate category introduces real competition to a space long dominated by a select few brands. If the Alpha Pro skates can deliver on performance, comfort, and durability, they could quickly earn trust among pros who are always searching for any possible edge.

The first NHL player to take that leap will be closely watched. Names like Mark Scheifele, Adrian Kempe, and Jared Spurgeon seem like logical candidates given their affiliation with Warrior. While a wildcard like Tage Thompson, known for experimenting with his skates, could just as easily be the one to break the ice.

Below the NHL level, the impact could be just as significant. With Warrior’s existing partnerships, particularly in the ECHL and at several NCAA programs, we can expect to see the Alpha Pros gain traction in those ranks. Schools like Denver, the University of Maine, and Boston College could become early proving grounds, giving the skates valuable exposure among high-level players.

On the retail side, the arrival of the Alpha Pro skates is equally compelling. Local hockey shops will play a key role in shaping their success.

There is a strong possibility that dedicated Warrior users, especially in adult rec leagues and youth hockey, will be eager to try something new from a brand they already trust. In many cases, these players are incredibly loyal and passionate about their equipment, sometimes even more so than professionals.

Ultimately, the launch of the Warrior Alpha Pro skates is more than just a new product release. If the skates live up to the hype, they could redefine brand competition in the skate category and open the door for a new era in hockey equipment.

As the release date approaches, all eyes will be on both the retail shelves and the ice, waiting for those early reviews and reactions.

With 60 points through 79 games, the Toronto native has carved out a meaningful role and looks every bit like a future staple in the Ducks’ top six for years to come.

Many will remember the moment his name was called on draft night, accompanied by a visibly surprised reaction from Sennecke himself. At the time, some analysts suggested Anaheim may have reached.

Fast forward to now, and that narrative has shifted considerably. The Ducks appear to be building toward long-term success, and Sennecke is a central piece of that foundation.

His playmaking ability, responsible two-way game, and growing confidence at the NHL level have all contributed to a strong first impression.

But beyond his on-ice performance, Sennecke recently caught the attention of the hockey equipment world in a different way. During an April 3rd matchup against the St. Louis Blues, he was spotted using a Bauer stick, specifically one dressed as the popular Vapor FlyLite model.

This was a notable departure from the CCM sticks he has consistently used throughout his amateur career and into his rookie season.

Moments like this tend to spark immediate conversation among gear enthusiasts. A young, high-profile player experimenting with a different brand, naturally leads to speculation. Could this be the early stages of a potential equipment partnership shift? Or was it simply a one-off experiment?

At this point, there are a few possibilities. One is that the Bauer stick was custom-made for Sennecke, complete with his name and preferred specifications. If that’s the case, it could indicate that discussions between Sennecke and Bauer are already underway.

Equipment companies often begin building relationships with players well before any official announcement, and a custom build would suggest a deeper level of involvement.

On the other hand, it’s entirely possible that this was a more casual test. Players occasionally borrow sticks from teammates just to get a different feel, especially during the long grind of an NHL season.

Without confirmation that the stick was specifically made for him, it’s difficult to draw any firm conclusions.

Adding to the intrigue, Sennecke returned to his CCM stick in a subsequent game against the San Jose Sharks. That shift back leans toward the idea that this was simply a trial run rather than an immediate transition. Still, even a brief test is enough to put him on the radar within the equipment community.

These situations are worth monitoring because they often serve as early indicators of future changes. If Sennecke continues to experiment with Bauer sticks, it could signal that something more concrete is developing.

Equipment deals are a significant part of a player’s professional profile, and for a rising star like Sennecke, any potential switch would be closely watched.

Another layer to this story involves his skates. Despite primarily using CCM gear, Sennecke currently wears True skates, making his setup somewhat mixed already.

If Bauer were to pursue a full partnership, it raises the question of whether that would include skates as well. While that remains purely speculative, it adds another dimension to an already intriguing situation.
