Sherwood Hockey's Next Franchise Star in the Making
As the hockey world continues to churn out elite young talent, few names have generated as much buzz at such an early age as Landon DuPont. A native of Calgary, Alberta, DuPont just wrapped up an incredible rookie campaign in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Everett Silvertips, and he did so at just 15 years old.
In his first full season of Junior hockey, DuPont posted a staggering 17 goals and 43 assists, totaling 60 points in 64 games. A jaw-dropping stat line for a defenseman of any age, let alone someone just entering high school.

With his elite vision, skating, and offensive instincts from the blue line, DuPont is already being projected as a potential franchise defenseman, and talk of him being a first-overall pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft is gaining momentum.

While NHL teams can only wait and watch for now, the next two seasons of WHL action promise to be filled with excitement as DuPont continues to refine his already exceptional skill set. Scouts, fans, and media alike will be tracking his development closely, wondering just how far this young phenom can rise.

Adding to the growing spotlight around DuPont is his new partnership with Sherwood Hockey, officially announced just over a week ago. While the specifics of the agreement remain largely confidential, it is clear that Sherwood has made a major move by locking in one of the sport's most exciting young prospects.

It’s expected that DuPont will be using Sherwood sticks throughout the remainder of his Junior career. This is a quite notable development given the limited number of Sherwood users in the CHL.

This strategic signing not only affirms DuPont’s elite status but also marks another savvy branding moment for Sherwood. The equipment brand made headlines just two years ago when it inked a partnership with Connor Bedard, who at the time was selected first overall at the 2023 NHL Draft. By aligning themselves with generational talents early in their careers, Sherwood is building a powerful narrative of being trusted by some of the game’s best and youngest stars.

While DuPont will have to wait to wear Sherwood gloves due to the CHL’s newly minted league-wide partnership with Bauer, he’s still poised to represent the brand prominently. As one of the few players using Sherwood sticks at this level, he stands out both visually and symbolically. Representing a fresh identity in a league dominated by equipment mainstays.

Looking ahead, it’s expected that once DuPont turns pro, he will indeed be sporting the full Sherwood package. Stick, gloves, and potentially some of their protective equipment. This will certainly help further cement the brand's foothold among the next generation of hockey stars.

Until then, fans can expect to see him light up scoreboards in the WHL and continue his journey as one of the sport's most talked-about young names.

Sherwood’s partnership with Landon DuPont is more than a simple equipment deal. It is a declaration that they’re betting on a player who could very well define the next decade of NHL blue-line talent. And for DuPont, it’s another step on what already looks to be a thrilling road to hockey stardom.
