Bauer Beckett Soon?
Beckett Sennecke’s rookie season with the Anaheim Ducks has been nothing short of encouraging, both for the organization and for fans eager to see the team return to contention.

Selected third overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, a pick that raised eyebrows at the time, Sennecke has quickly begun to validate Anaheim’s belief in his potential. With 60 points through 79 games, the Toronto native has carved out a meaningful role and looks every bit like a future staple in the Ducks’ top six for years to come.

Many will remember the moment his name was called on draft night, accompanied by a visibly surprised reaction from Sennecke himself. At the time, some analysts suggested Anaheim may have reached.

Fast forward to now, and that narrative has shifted considerably. The Ducks appear to be building toward long-term success, and Sennecke is a central piece of that foundation.

His playmaking ability, responsible two-way game, and growing confidence at the NHL level have all contributed to a strong first impression.

But beyond his on-ice performance, Sennecke recently caught the attention of the hockey equipment world in a different way. During an April 3rd matchup against the St. Louis Blues, he was spotted using a Bauer stick, specifically one dressed as the popular Vapor FlyLite model.

This was a notable departure from the CCM sticks he has consistently used throughout his amateur career and into his rookie season.

Moments like this tend to spark immediate conversation among gear enthusiasts. A young, high-profile player experimenting with a different brand, naturally leads to speculation. Could this be the early stages of a potential equipment partnership shift? Or was it simply a one-off experiment?

At this point, there are a few possibilities. One is that the Bauer stick was custom-made for Sennecke, complete with his name and preferred specifications. If that’s the case, it could indicate that discussions between Sennecke and Bauer are already underway.

Equipment companies often begin building relationships with players well before any official announcement, and a custom build would suggest a deeper level of involvement.

On the other hand, it’s entirely possible that this was a more casual test. Players occasionally borrow sticks from teammates just to get a different feel, especially during the long grind of an NHL season.

Without confirmation that the stick was specifically made for him, it’s difficult to draw any firm conclusions.

Adding to the intrigue, Sennecke returned to his CCM stick in a subsequent game against the San Jose Sharks. That shift back leans toward the idea that this was simply a trial run rather than an immediate transition. Still, even a brief test is enough to put him on the radar within the equipment community.

These situations are worth monitoring because they often serve as early indicators of future changes. If Sennecke continues to experiment with Bauer sticks, it could signal that something more concrete is developing.

Equipment deals are a significant part of a player’s professional profile, and for a rising star like Sennecke, any potential switch would be closely watched.

Another layer to this story involves his skates. Despite primarily using CCM gear, Sennecke currently wears True skates, making his setup somewhat mixed already.

If Bauer were to pursue a full partnership, it raises the question of whether that would include skates as well. While that remains purely speculative, it adds another dimension to an already intriguing situation.
